Paul Howard, 'Restoration', 2005, still from animated film

Print launch and animated works

The studio has supported artist Paul Howard to produce a limited edition print of his work 'Restoration', inspired by Holbein's painting 'The Ambassadors', which the artist initially developed during a LabCulture residency. The print is showing alongside

'Restoration' a 4 minute silent film at:
Muse | 269 Portobello Road | London | W11 1LR
4 -16 July 12 noon - 10 pm.

Paul Howard comments: "This piece is borne out of Holbein's Ambassadors‚. A contemporary reworking of this iconic image is re-constructed in terms of the tourist gaze, which refers in part to the scopic-drive and its mechanisms of desire. Holbein‚s image insists on the discordant harmony of a globalised and cartographic vision. How far the objects, the appearance and attitude of the figures and their relationships have travelled is the subject of this piece."

Also showing is 'Starshit Enterprise' a limited edition print and 5 minute film with sound.
